From the wine cellar of Pelissanne, a pleasant journey awaits you that will make you forget the 13km of this walk. 

Vineyards and olive groves are often to be found along the tracks and paths leading to the village of Aurons, which is worth discovering for its historical treasures.

Description

  1. When you leave the cellar, turn right onto Avenue Frédéric Mistral. At the crossroads, keep left onto Avenue du Souvenir Français. At the roundabout, take the 3rd exit. Drive up Chemin des Miroirs, then follow signs for ‘lotissement de la Pinède de Signoret’. At the roundabout, go straight through the Passe Temps (Pagnol) crossroads. After no. 15, follow a dirt track. At the vineyard, keep left (no. 150). After the last house, go straight on and enter the forest. Go through the gate. Shortly afterwards, take the small track on the left. Go over a small step. At the two trees and before another step, follow the path to the right. At the crossroads, turn right then left. Opposite the gate at no. 846 turn right into the surfaced road.
  2. After the no. 1035 of the Signoret pat, stay on the right on the old path Lambesc to Salon. Follow “Aurons 1h30” (Aurons 1:30) on the directional post.
  3. After the pylon and the crossroad of the Route du Sel path, go on the vineyard on the left. Follow the farm track along the edge of the plot to the right. Go around the pine grove. Exit the plot to the right and paved road. Keep to the left.
  4. At the fork, turn left onto the DFCI track. After the plantations, turn right towards tank no. 195 and continue straight on for 100 metres.
  5. Turn right to the pylon. At that point, take the path which climb to the rocky bar. Follow the path Lambesc to Salon. Follow « Aurons 1h30 » (Aurons 1 :30) on the directional post.
  6. Climb to the left to join a track. Keep to the left. Descend to the bottom of the valley and climb up to the ridge opposite ridge opposite.
  7. On the left, continue to climb until the electric line.
  8. Turn right at the first bend. At the crossroads, follow the track to the left and straight on to the path of Lambesc, which leads to the village of Aurons. At the stop sign, turn left onto Avenue de la Transhumance towards the fountain. Turn right to explore the village and return to the fountain. Then head down the D68 as far as the roundabout. Keep right and follow the red DFCI sign.
  9. When the floor covering change, turn right and climb along the stream.
  10. At the crossroad, take the left-hand path, passing under the first power line. The Abbey of Saint Pierre des Canons overlooks the path. At the closing cable, turn left. Pass under the power lines again. Walk along the plantations. Go straight on to the orientation table. At this point, enjoy the view over the entire valley and the village of Pelissanne. Go down the track on the left.
  11. At the fork which has the shape of a crow’s foot, take the path that winds down to the right and meets up with the houses on the Chemin des Aspres. Continue straight downhill.
  12. At the bottom of the hill, at the large crossroads, turn right onto “e vieux chemin de Lambesc à Salon”. After the pylon, go up the dirt lane that overlooks part of the site of the Pelissanne obstacle course. 
  13. Turn left onto the Chemin de Saint Pierre. Find the GR 2013. Walk past the Moulin des Costes. Continue straight ahead. At the roundabout, keep left on the soft lane “impasse Bramaïre” to join the route d’Aurons and the Cave des Vignerons of Pelissanne.
